Notifications don’t arrive
- Open Settings → Notifications → marked and make sure Allow Notifications is on.
- Check that a Focus mode isn’t silencing marked.
- Open the app once after installing or updating: notifications are scheduled on your iPhone from the latest case schedule each time the app opens.
The board isn’t updating
- New files appear at their release time. Offline, the app shows the last files it loaded and catches up when you reconnect.
- If you see “We couldn’t reach the case”, tap Try again. If it persists, check your connection or VPN.
- Make sure your iPhone’s date and time are set automatically.
Signing in
Reading needs no account. You sign in — with Apple or Google — only to cast a verdict, collect points and appear on the leaderboard. If sign-in fails, check your connection, then try the other provider. Sign in with Apple’s Hide My Email works fine.
Your name on the leaderboard is yours to choose, and doesn’t have to be your real one: Settings → your profile.
Points and the leaderboard
- Points come from verdicts: a case is scored once the voting closes, so a fresh verdict won’t change your score immediately.
- The leaderboard is rebuilt on the server. If your place looks stale, pull to refresh, or come back in a few minutes.
- One account, one verdict per case — a verdict can’t be taken back.
Something in a case looks wrong
A typo, a broken image, a clue that contradicts another? Email us with the file number (for example #0938) and we’ll look into it. Please don’t post spoilers in App Store reviews — other investigators will thank you.
Deleting your account, or starting over
To delete the account and everything tied to it — profile, name, game history, your place on the leaderboard — open Settings → your profile → Delete account. It can’t be undone. Without the app, use Delete your account.
Reading progress, recent searches and settings live only on your iPhone: deleting the app clears them.
